Yet try as I might, I simply couldn't spit it out.
I suck.
I was at Tae Kwon Do this time. Multiple times, people commented on my changed appearances, and were interested in the 'why'.
Yet try as I might, I simply couldn't spit it out. I suck.

So today, at work, the topic of my shave came up again. I ALMOST managed to spit it out, but stuttered, "Because...", and because of that pause, I was unable to finish, because by the time the words had come to me, I was being interrupted by the flow of the conversation drifting progressively elsewhere.
Kinda frustrating. I WANT to tell them, I almost DID tell them, but I'm always failing. I'm a bit of a coward. Oh, at least I finally got weebly working, as you can tell by my entries today! So that's good. Well, today was another wasted day. Really didn't do anything of interest at all. Just mafia, a little TVTropes reading, and some progress in the Black Omen for Chrono Trigger. (Got to where the boss battle would be, but backtracked to the Nus, since I still want to farm for Power Tabs some more. That Tubsters drop Elixirs just makes my job all the more easy--I'm already in the 90s with my Elixirs thanks to charming them with Ayla from the Geno Dome, but I could go dozens of Tubster fights before needing so much as one, and therefore can fully replenish my characters in just three fights.)
Tomorrow I go back to work, though. It'll probably be different, so I need to give myself extra time. Time for shaving, a shower, eating, gathering my things (especially since it's a Tuesday and I have Tae Kwon Do), and getting there at least half an hour early if not earlier, in order to get a feeling for whatever inevitable changes have been made to the pool since I left. So that'll be interesting. I'll probably write a blog entry about it. And who knows? I might actually try to get my entries online tomorrow! We'll have to see. Oops, almost forgot to make an entry today, even though you're not going to see it until I can make weebly actually work. (Haven't had the chance to check, yet, but not optimistic.)
Anyway, watched the second Puella Magi Madoka Magica movie today, but aside from that, it's been mainly mafia and nothing really productive, aside from watching a few Avatar episodes with my sister. (We had to stop at episode 18 of Book 1: Water, because my sister needed to get things prepared for bed. Not that we would probably have been able to finish, since our parents came home.) Soyeah, that's been my day. Well, today was movie night. The first film didn't really interest me that much, but the second was The Last Unicorn, finally, and it was every bit as magnificent as I was hoping, well worth the wait.
The music was wondrous. And the animation's drop-dead gorgeous. It had an ethereal feeling to it, truly having that aura of absolute sheer beauty. You just don't see that anymore, with fully digital animation. People there speculated on the different reasons as to why, but it was universally agreed about that fact, that there's something so magical about the old-fashioned animation that makes it feel so special, so unique, and so good. Not to mention, it's a simply breathtaking fantasy story, one that I absolutely loved. The movie shows how to do things right, in every way. Storytelling, animation, music...it gets it all done so brilliantly. And while I haven't read the book it's based on, my understanding is that it's a fairly faithful adaption, too. So really, what more could you possibly ask for in it? Well, family night concluded a couple hours ago. We watched the remainder of Fate/Zero, and all I have to say is...ouch. Just...wow. I knew things weren't going to go well, but I didn't know they'd go over THAT badly. It is not at all an inaccurate summation to say, "all the bad guys alive near the end live content, all the good guys near the end get screwed over".
Still enjoyed it very much, and it raised interest in Fate/Stay Night, so that's always a good thing. I presume the original visual novels are excellent, but failing obtaining them, the anime would still be good to watch. After that, we spend a while failing to strike up any meaningful conversation. Ah, well. Well, not gonna even try to get the blog working tonight, though I may try again tomorrow. Speaking of which, tomorrow will be sibling night, since my parents are away, and my brother and sister are going to an event with their friends on Saturday.
But anyway, not much to report. I think I'm almost normalized on my stuff to get done schedule, and yet at the same time, I've made massive progress on Chrono Trigger--I maxed out Robo today, and beat the level 99 Spekkio. It took some trial and error, though--I had a good combo where Robo with the Haste Helm would heal, and after both girls (Lucca and Marle/Nadia) had haste Antipod3, so I thought I could just win because Dark Matter did negligible damage, and so too did Flare. Hallation was annoying, but two Cure Beams cured it and I couldn't die from one hit of any technique... ...Or so I thought. Then, Spekkio cast Luminaire. Fire ultimate spell, no problem! Darkness ultimate spell, no problem! Lightning ultimate spell? Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaah, total party kill. But two White Mails and a White Vest later (I think it's two Mails and one Vest--two which fully absorb and one which 50% absorbs anyway), and I was getting healed by it. Healed by Luminaire, unable to be killed by Flare so long as Robo IMMEDIATELY cast Heal Beam after Hallation, and Antipode3 dealing close to 2,000 damage meant that Spekkio went down fairly quickly. Soyeah, now I just have to go through the Black Omen three times and complete a few miscellaneous tasks. (Basically, confirm I've done everything I can do.) Fun times. I'm royally ticked off at my computer right now. It restarted, without warning, when I was in the middle of working on my Red Hood Rider notes. I wouldn't be that mad if, as normal, it recovered them...BUT IT DIDN'T.
I just wasted literally half an hour, typing up notes that now I have to start over from scratch on. They were GOOD NOTES, too, and I'm not going to be able to retype them up with nearly the same amount of skill as when I first did. ...Oh. Yeah, probably shoulda mentioned that. I haven't abandoned working on Red Hood Rider. I've made massive script progress and note progress, save for the loss I just had. It's just...GAH. I WAS MAKING SUCH GOOD PROGRESS. Then my computer had to kill it, along with any motivation I had to continue. And now, MY BLOG IS REFUSING TO LOAD, in spite of every OTHER page working JUST fine, so I CAN'T EVEN POST THIS. AHG! Very frustrated. _No work and no Tae Kwon Do (both thanks to shutdown) means that I've basically been lounging around all day. I woke up in the afternoon at about one, didn't feel like getting up, but my dad came around and re-woke me anyway, forcing the matter. Ate the majority of my breakfast, but as per the norm these days, I couldn't finish it. (I don't know why my appetite has grown so small; it might be my metabolism slowing down, might be depression, might be both, but something is clearly causing me to no longer crave nor consume nearly as much as I once did. Which is a bit of a concern; I constantly look at the scale and am surprised to see how little weight I've lost, but the trend is showing me beginning to lose weight slowly, tenth of a pound by tenth of a pound.)
It's given me a lot of free time, which I've mostly squandered, again playing games. I can't talk about the mafia stuff of course, but I can talk about Chrono Trigger. Right now, I'm basically grinding the conveyor belt at Geno Dome: Robo's gained well over 20 levels, having gone from my most under-leveled character aside from Janus (I named him Janus, his real name, rather than the default Magus, but it's only two letters a difference anyway with the same pronunciation of the syllables), who being in the party is quickly catching up. Robo's somewhere mid-80s as my highest-leveled character, having surpassed Chrono. The strategy I'm using is that Janus has the gold stud, and is casting Lightning2. Instakilling all enemies at the measly cost of 2 MP, usually before they can attack since he's got a speed of 14 right now. (I'm tempted to go to the Black Omen and get me some speed tabs for him, but I'll wait.) Robo's there at the party leader position. Lucca, originally the third-most underleveled character (because my default team was Chrono, Marle, and Ayla, save for times when a character was required or at least vastly preferred), has become tied with Ayla level-wise, and I generally go through five times with Lucca and three times with Ayla, with Ayla charming about 3 elixirs per runthrough. (Or however many times it takes so that Janus can't complete the next conveyor--it takes him 10 MP per runthrough.) The combo is really, really good. I'm basically trying to get Robo to level **, as to allow me to take on a Pink-Nu Spekkio. (I'm planning a party of Nadia--I renamed her--Robo, and Lucca, with Nadia/Lucca having the studs, Nadia there for the Haste spell, Robo for his level and group heal, and Lucca for offense.) This, incidentally, is another reason to have Lucca be my main focus in leveling up. Janus is there because he dispatches enemies faster than anyone except Chrono (Chrono would do so faster with his ** speed), yet he's underleveled and thus could use the XP. (Also, while I'm PRETTY sure that Chrono could one-shot the enemies with Lighting2, I'm not absolutely sure; he's the one who's received every magical tab I've gotten for good reason: his magic does not increase much, whereas Janus's is just a few levels from becoming maxed out.) In short, I'm already strong enough to take Lavos on. Geno dome is the last sidequest, leaving just the Black Omen. And I already completed it up to Atropos, getting Robo his speed boost. (Technically also Mdef, but his Mdef was nearly maxed out even before that fight, due to the grinding I've done for him.) If you couldn't tell, by the way, generally, I don't use Frog/Glenn. I realize I probably under-utilize him, but aside from times where Magus/Cyrus/Leene are involved, there's not much dialog from him that I really consider interesting. (Granted, Ayla's is even more boring aside from some specific instances, but she's an incredibly pragmatic character for the charming she does and sheer raw attack power. Not to mention, high natural hit/evade stats.) Plus, while I realize there are good ways to use his skills, I never really got much use out of them. When he's in my party, generally, I'm doing nothing but having him physically attack, relying on his higher-than-average chances for critical hits, a role that both Ayla and now Chrono also share, making him mostly obsolete to me. Speaking of lines, generally, I prefer having Janus in the party over Chrono for the simple reason that he speaks. Also, his running animation is the best of any character, and while I'm sure it's not true, it feels like he runs faster than the rest of them, thus, he's a natural party leader. Plus the whole "underleveled" thing. Basically, when it comes down to it, I never use Robo either except for plot-related occasions. Lucca is good when I don't have a need for Ayla, but unless Lucca's interactions trump Marle/Nadia, I'm going to favor Marle/Nadia over her in a party. The hierarchy basically goes: Janus-Ayla(pragmatic)-Marle/Nadia-Lucca-Chrono-Frog/Glenn-Robo-Ayla(story). Robo's so low for the same reason that Glenn is. Sure, someone else might get great use out of him, but generally, I just use characters that are, frankly, faster. This way, I don't have to look up the numbers! (Relevant to the last title and the time I'm posting this--much later than most entries I make past midnight.)
Technically, there was stuff I could have said before midnight, I just wasn't feeling like saying anything. But I suppose I can give you the basic rundown of my day. I started out with a shower, and shaved everywhere: my face, my legs, and my hands in particular, but because something in the razor was dieing--I think the motor--I missed rather a number of spots. Ah, well. I can get them Wednesday, since a new razor was bought. I went to my Dentist's appointment, and in spite of it having been 18 hours since the appointment (more, actually), my teeth are still hurting. Consequence of me not taking painkillers, I suppose. It's more of an annoyance than a true pain, anyway, a feeling more akin to numbness than true pain. Then came my counseling appointment, and he made me think about jobs I could maybe pursue applying for. Then I wasted the rest of the day playing games, as is the norm. But no work for a week means I can get away with it guilt-free! |
