...They didn't have a record of me. At all. Yet I got a pink slip at our last appointment which means that we verbally scheduled an appointment. My parents aren't going to mess up and tell me I have an appointment on a date I do not; they're only going to tell me something they are very, very, very sure of. They knew the date and the time, in the format identical to what it'd be on a pink slip so we kept an accurate record; they did not.
...It wasn't a wasted trip though! Aside from me also getting some gas I suspect I'll need (I mean, I've got counseling later today, tae kwon do tomorrow, I believe a tae kwon do test this Saturday to assist with, and work on Sunday and I don't know when my parents will be back, so), I dropped by work, and was able to recover my written notes from yesterday!
The first song I wrote, I named "Improvise". Here it is.
You never know what to say
It just comes forward
Often you're improvising
With no idea what's next
We go on and on
While we have no clue
We will play it loose
We don't know what to do.
Random words together
No reason little rhyme
People'll give meaning
Even to freestyle
So let's sing aloud
Pick up this tune
Go on and proud
Nothing keeping us down.
We've made it to here
Well that's a fine start
Now where do we steer
On what path do we take
There's no right answer
There are many ways
We've got endless fates
So let's choose our today
Random words together
No reason little rhyme
People'll give meaning
Even to freestyle
So let's sing aloud
Pick up this tune
Go on and proud
Nothing keeping us down.
We make this up,
We won't go down,
There's nothing right,
And this is what's left.
Random words together
No reason little rhyme
People'll give meaning
Even to freestyle
So let's sing aloud
Pick up this tune
Go on and proud
Nothing keeping us down.
Random words together
No reason little rhyme
People'll give meaning
Even to freestyle
So let's sing aloud
Pick up this tune
Go on and proud
Nothing keeping us down.
The next song I wrote, I named "The Link". (See if you can spot the stealth pun.)
Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
Do you see me here
Is it that hard?
Am I not clear?
I'm in the wrong part.
I was given a role,
But I'm not a fit,
So you should know
I want to quit.
Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
I'm talking to you
Can't you hear me?
What should I do
With who I wanna be?
Do you hear my words?
I've made my speech.
Just ask me to learn
And I'm happy to teach.
Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
I'm not a rebel,
I am no mistake.
Every day is hell
With my cursed fate.
I've been suffering,
I've been in pain.
Did you not see
That I carry this weight?
Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
I'm talking to you
Can't you hear me?
What should I do
With who I wanna be?
Do you hear my words?
I've made my speech.
Just ask me to learn
And I'm happy to teach.
Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
You missed the link,
You assumed you knew,
I wanna be free,
So let me loose.
Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
I'm talking to you
Can't you hear me?
What should I do
With who I wanna be?
Do you hear my words?
I've made my speech.
Just ask me to learn
And I'm happy to teach.
Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
The third song I didn't title and didn't write verses for but the chorus went:
I am me, I am me,
What I'd give
To be free
What I want
What I need
Love supporting.
...Not much but I thought it powerful enough.
...You miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight be able to guess about when I started writing a couple of the songs. Guess which of them was one I started composing before work rather than during?
Butyeah. I thought I'd share these. They may stem from a combination of depression and some sour interactions, but I think they're good works of art overall.
