And have played it.
But surprisingly...I'm not feeling as addicted to it as I thought.
Which is good, I suppose.
Still ate up most of my day though.
I succumbed and bought Civ 3.

I'm conking out and it's only 1, but then again I've been tired all day.
Sleep. Well one of the two days of it anyway, but seeing as how I have work tomorrow the birthday present gift was for the one-day pass only so I won't be going; I'll be working.
It was quite fun and pretty much what I expected it to be. I did notice something about myself, though. I'm having an increasingly large urge to use more and more of my left hand/arm. I don't know why, but for everything except for a few things (especially fine motor control), my left hand seems to be the one I'm finding more appealing. I actually have a bit of a theory. My right arm functions faster and with more dexterity, but I feel it might be less powerful. This would be backed by my preferred practice stance, and also the stance I seem to favor in sparring a good amount of the time: my right leg is forward. As any fighter can tell you, front-side attacks are faster, with more precision, but far less speed than back-side attacks. But it's also a position which can be thought of as fighting southpaw, because when you fight, your primary hand isn't usually the blocking/jabbing hand; your primary hand is usually the one you throw crosses with, and I favor my left hand. It may be something to explore in the future, but we'll have to see. The first art I've made in a long time!
Now. Admittedly. It was a doodle taking less than two minutes to make. Butstill. Art! Tomorrow's Summer Camp, so I'm not going to do much. So I was having a discussion.
In it, it was brought up that obsidian is glass. (A fact I knew already.) This got me to wikipedia obsidian. From there, about two dozen tabs got opened--this is not the slipping away you think it is! They're all closed now, with no tabs replacing them, thankyouverymuch. I did waste a couple hours on the Aztecs, numerous weapons, their social status, armor, shields, and similar, but that? Got closed. The damage done was making me think about a couple of childhood games, Age of Empires II and far more deadly... ...Civilization III. I figured. "Well, too bad, craving to waste my life. You can't find the correct CD and even if you did, installing it on your computer would be a royal pain." Unfortunately. I'm not stupid enough to listen to my brain, even when I should. And on a whim, I searched to see if Civilization III with the appropriate expansions, was available on steam. ...It is. WELP. The good news is. I haven't bought it yet! The bad news is. It's only a matter of time before I cave in and end up buying it, sucking my life away. At least it's not yet! A huge, huge, HUGE breakthrough on Phyrra and Cyrus.
I wanted to give the full blog today, but I was too busy today dealing with stuff to do that, so all I can really give you is that I'm on the verge of naming their world...and have successfully given their 'Verse a name: I gave it a working title of The INFIverse. Now. That might sound like a lame name. But it's anything but. That name has regards to do with the coolest creation myth I've ever made, and it took me HOURS of brainstorming to hash it out. A quick google search indicates that I'll need to come up with something else as Infiverse seems to be taken even though I am quite specific about it being INFIverse (the extra letter capitalization holds meaning), but a working title which needs to be changed because it's taken is better than no title for the verse at all! Still, since the name's apparently taken I'll need to work a little bit harder, but I'm oh so very close. I also--and this is directly correlated to the creation myth--worked out what the most popular religion in Phyrra and Cyrus is. Quick note, there's no confirmed deities in existence, be it lowercase god or uppercase God, and yet there's numerous religions in existence revolving around the few aspects of the creation of their world that they don't have explained away with science. Basically there's a very small gap in their knowledge, and that gap is where religion enters the picture; monotheism is more common than pantheism, and I developed the name of the most popular religion. It's probably the name of an existing religion but then again what isn't: Voidism. Again this'll make sense when I explain the way their world was created, which I can't wait to do, but unfortunately need to wait until tomorrow to do. I'm just so excited! I not only work tomorrow, but have a bit of a sore throat, so I need to sleep now.
Today was mostly wasted time waiting for dinner at Denny's (to celebrate my sister's birthday), and playing a game where I didn't do the thing I set out to do. Oh well. The day is lost (your majesty)...but there's always tomorrow! So, no blog entry to day as that was private time.
Apologies! Unfortunate, but expected.
Anime night, so. Watched Attack on Titan (my siblings insist we've watched it subbed and thus can watch the new episodes, but hearing the voices, I'm QUITE certain that we didn't so I don't know what the heck they were thinking but oh well), a few episodes of Tokyo Ghoul (we're at around episode 8 I believe), and then a series I can't remember the full name of (half of it is Seraph) involving vampires and demons (got to around 7 there). With that, I need to go to bed. |
