Gotta say.
They are my absolute favorites to watch.
They just have this kind of chill vibe about their broadcast.
The LCS is trying its hardest to be stylized like an American Football game.
The LEC has some solid content in games and gives some good feedback on the nature of the game and highlights some questionable choices which makes it entertaining.
The LPL and LCK are reasonably solid games, but no gimmicks because they're basically English translations of foreign broadcasts.

But the OPL is just...chill vibes. And I love to watch the teams--none of the teams I want to see lose and I want them all to do well. It's the only league I can say that of.
LPL/LCK have teams I am indifferent about and teams I like.
LCS has teams I root for and three teams I want to see lose (this year, it's Team Liquid and Flyquest making returns to the list with Evil Geniuses replacing 100 Thieves as the third, since 100 Thieves is among the teams I am rooting for).

Yet everyone on OPL I just...I like them, dangit.

They're the best region in content and I maintain that they're underrated as a competitive region.
I admit--this year their gameplay looks...well, more questionable than it did last year. When I watched them last year I was impressed and thought both teams were playing incredibly well and not making mistakes; this year when watching them I am seeing both teams making tons of mistakes.

But my theory is that difference is due to this being the start of the year and by the end of the year they'll return to the form I saw them in before.

It's just.
All-around.

...I'm at least trying to get stuff back to normal.
Keeping vaguely on top of some stuff, but I admit I've fallen behind on other stuff.

It's called Cividlization 2. 

What's the problem with that game?
Well.
It combines the timesink nature of Civilization.
With the timesink nature of Idle games.
And has none of the downsides of most idle games because you feel like you are advancing your civilization.

I am thoroughly addicted and it is consuming my life.

...In the 100 Thieves versus Golden Guardians match, I did end up rooting for the 100 Thieves more, but I also was rooting for the Golden Guardians. I wanted both to win, even if I wanted 100 Thieves to win a little bit more. It was probably one of the best matches of the season yet in terms of entertainment value.

I felt that while both teams did make mistakes, both teams overall played incredibly well.
I admit that I was multitasking during the laning phase, but once it got to the teamfights...it was just...both teams doing everything they could to win and it was great​ to watch.

...I did end up cheering for the new Dignitas. It's one game, a bit early to call it for sure, but I think that I will continue to root for them in spite of most of their team being different.

On that note--one of their Clutch members is on the new 100 Thieves roster. I'm not really that fond of Ssumday (I think he's overly hyped and actually think that of the 100 Thieves toplaners, FakeGod is the stronger of the two), and am apathetic about their support (don't really know him or care about him yet), but the other three, Ryoma, Cody Sun, and Meteos, I was all fans of last year. Yes that was largely their teams as a whole rather than the individual players--

...But that still makes me cautiously optimistic about 100 Thieves performing well this year and maybe, just maybe, being worth rooting for. We'll have to see.

I mean when an Ashe takes both Manaflow Band AND Presence of Mind, which is something I run, then naturally.

Lethal Tempo instead of Arcane Comet!
Alacrity instead of Bloodline!
Cut Down is a bit of a surprise since I'd expect Coup de Grace, but not one which I'm particularly surprised by.

And they take Gathering Storm, my rune of choice, when most people take Scorch.

It is, obviously.
A more meta rune choice.
But it is still something that I love to see because YES, that is in line with my girl Ashe as I like to see her. <3

I am a woman of simple tastes.
In a meta dominated by a handful of adcs.
Senna. Aphelios. (As the S+.) Miss Fortune. Caitlyn. Lucian. Who else? Is there any others? Probably Xayah. Maybe Kai'sa. The occasional Varus.

In a meta dominated by all of those as the ad carry.
When I see a team in their first game of the season forgo all of those.
And lock in my girl Ashe.

Yeah even if you lose that I'm going to say yes to you. <3

I was watching a streamer finish playing Dragonball Z: Kakarot. They loved the game and through them, I loved it too. They were obviously a DBZ fan who grew up with DBZ when they were younger, and it showed in their playthrough, their commentary, and so on and so forth and everything about it was beautiful because that game was a masterpiece.

And as a consequence...I stayed up until the time I was planning on waking up. WHOOPS!

In League news--turns out? I still root for C9 domestically, and still want Team Liquid to lose.

Currently about to watch the CLG versus Dignitas team, but like...the Clutch Gaming team that I knew is gone. Gone, gone. The one and only player remaining is the star of stars in Huni on Dignitas, but like...it wasn't the brand, it wasn't him as a player specifically, it was the Clutch Gaming team as a team that I learned to root for. And none of them are there anymore.

If Dignitas wants me to root for them, then they'll need to have me fall in love with the new team the same way I did with the old one. Because right now...I am honestly thinking that either I might root for CLG or just not really root for anyone at all in this match.

Earn my love or earn my apathy.
​This game will go a long, loooooooong way towards determining which of the two it'll be.

...Exactly what I was hoping for, is happening.
I know that MAD loses their game.
And seeing it I can see how.
But there is no doubt that the game was a good one.
MAD impressed me even in their loss, and against a team which wasn't G2 and with more experience under their belt...they have potential!
​We'll obviously have to see in the future tho.

...Been a while since I blogged about them.
I said more or less last time.
"Hey if these teams stay together as-is, then I will root for them in 2020".
Lose one player, maybe an iffy change--but still someone I can root for.
Lose two players, maybe a little hard; are they really the same team? That sort of change might be hyped up as for the better, but when a team is someone I want to root for a change of that many players is usually...not the best.

...Lose three or even four players from the team that I was rooting for.
And then if I was still rooting for them it'd be for their name.
Which I don't really feel like.

So uh.
Fresh slates everyone!
I've got nobody I'm really rooting for because almost nobody remained intact. (G2 did, but I only root for G2 internationally; locally unless they're playing against someone who I want to see lose--and I don't have any of those right now--I don't really care about them winning or losing. I know they'll do well. I just don't see what there is to root for other than hopefully them giving me good games. G2 I want to see good games for, but I don't care if they win locally.)

Mostly I'm just.
Blank slate, everyone is at neutral by and large. You want me to root for you, then make me root for you; you want me to want you to lose, earn my spite. It'll happen! Just give me some time to figure out where I want to see more of, essentially.

LCS Academy is utterly unwatchable.
What the hell were they thinking in having, what, four games simultaneously?
That just means instead of having five games that I am hyped to watch and see, I've got...one. Because the four concurrent ones just...you can't have two games of League playing at the same time. You just can't. You can have the same game playing from more than one perspective. But trying to switch between four different games is just...it. doesn't. work. It doesn't. It just doesn't.

So most academy games I just won't be watching because they're utterly unwatchable.

My interest in watching league, especially with the quest being broken, is kinda...low.

Well.
For the West.

Believe it or not.
I actually love watching the Chinese games.
I was watching a ton of them and finding myself engaged in them even though I only know a fraction of their players/teams. It was fun to watch and I did find myself cheering.
