...I forgot. I wasted my time away gaming. Well, then I did girlfriend time after that, which is anything other than wasteful, so once I started that date, it was at the point where there is nothing I'd have rather done than that so sacrificing my blog was worth it at that point.
...Not so much the games that I can play at any time.
I even got to a reasonably convenient stopping point, too. What did I do? Instead of stopping there, I started a new Adventure as they're called. I've been working my way through the set of Adventures without real narration--no narrator and with descriptive text which is just flavorfully worded, "This is a sandbox level for you to have fun in".
Economic Sandbox, Open Sandbox, both completed as much as they can be: perfect cities making profits which rule over all cities, win most games, have all the goods necessary in plentiful amounts, and so on and so forth.
The Military sandbox on the other hand...
...I just can't figure out how to conquer Athens. I've tried everything. Having freakin' ARES THE GOD OF WAR travel into combat...with THREE ELITE HOUSING COMPLEXES worth of hoplites and horsemen, plus the sparti and Artemis's amazons plus Odysseus plus an ally LISTED AS HAVING EQUAL MILITARY STRENGTH to Athens...
...And no matter what, I keep getting crushed. Even when I use what I call the 'perfect timing' trick (where Athens loses a military shield by attempting to attack a city--or in one case, TWO cities--and failing, thus leaving themselves THEORETICALLY weaker). I reached every goal EXCEPT for conquering Athens, which I'm seriously wondering whether it's even possible.
I gave up, which is the stopping point I mentioned. A window where I had the perfect chance to blog.
Instead, I started the Economic Sandbox 2, a second Economic sandbox level with different parameters from the first (and presumably, more challenging). Which lasted until said date.
I am an idiot, and I do apologize. This was an oversight on my end.
