So my lifeguard training is...not going well. See, there was five hours' worth of training to do, before the program started.
I neglected to research this until five minutes before I had to leave.
And now it is nearly 4 AM, and I've yet to do it.
I'm not sure I can BS my way through this--not only do I need the knowledge, but a cert to prove it.
And I'm deeply, deeply worried right now.
When I got my original cert, it was just a thing I was doing for the heck of it; I didn't care if I passed or failed.
Now?
Now, my job depends on me passing something which by my own sheer stupidity I may be unable to pass.
And this is something that's bigger than me. It's also my community I'd be letting down. Keep in mind, I'm working six days a week. If I become unable to legally work, well...
It'll be hard on them to find replacements. We're already dealing with a bit of a shortage for the seventh day I said I couldn't work even though I can.
With me gone...well, they'd manage, but with extreme difficulty.
On a slightly lighter note, today was family night; we watched TWO movies: Star Trek IV (which I got to see only the latter half of), and the first in the new Star Trek movies, in honor of a fallen Vulcan.
It was thoroughly enjoyable, but now?
I'm absolutely screwed.
