So annoyingly enough, my computer restarted on me last night (which is when the majority of this blog post was written--I'm technically cheating by calling it a blog post for today), greatly hindering me.
But I figured it'd make a good blog post for today, so here goes nothing. Basically, yesterday I did a fair amount of drawing work. My drawing of Ruby isn't complete, yet, but it's to the point where it could be. (I'll note the changes I'll probably be making below, which is the part that is new for today and not typed up last night.)
I also fixed the scanner...mostly. The good news: it scans just as well if not better than my old scanner did. The bad news: it lost the size it had, not to mention, the pure whiteness of the paper, so I sacrificed quantity of workspace for quality of work, as well as also giving up quality of background. Doing a side-by-side comparison of the two, though, I'd say the trade was worth it.

Note that everything from the black part of the hoodie down (AKA everything from her right arm and downward) is subject to change--particularly, the legs. I like the length (seems fairly good proportionally), but the angle, anatomy, and pose may need some tweaking. I also dun goofed on the right arm; it's too short. I want to fix that. And a result of me changing that may be a change in the string of the bow and the arrow, too. Also, I want to see if I can maximize the feeling of the hood fabric.
Plus, I need to shorten the length of the hoodie's sleeves. Down to the wrist is too long; mid-forearm is more what I had in mind, so going where I did (bad habit from other characters I draw) was a moment of derp.
